Online sessions with our therapists can be arranged via Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype or FaceTime or over the phone – whichever is most convenient for you.

Benefits of therapy from home

There is good evidence that virtual sessions work. Research evidence suggests that online sessions are at least as effective as traditional face-to-face sessions, and sometimes they can be more effective. They are convenient as they can be more flexible around busy schedules. Being in your own home or other familiar space for your online CBT session allows you to feel more comfortable and relaxed. It removes the stress of travelling to therapy, and can be slotted into your day when it is convenient. In our experience, clients find this a simple and stress-free way to have sessions.
Convenient, Effective and Accessible

How our virtual sessions work

Once an appointment is arranged, you will receive confirmation of your appointment time. You will receive a link to join your therapist on a videocall shortly before your appointment is due to start. If you have indicated that you would prefer a telephone appointment, your therapist will call you at the time of your appointment. All sessions last 50 minutes.

  • You will be offered an initial assessment session in which to meet your therapist, discuss current difficulties, and get a flavour of how CBT works.

  • At the end of this appointment, your therapist will be able to give you an opinion as to whether CBT or another specialist approach is recommended for you. If is for you, your therapist will be able to tell you how many sessions you are likely to need, and a personalised treatment plan will be suggested.

  • If you decide to go ahead with sessions, you will be able to book these online with your therapist. Usually, sessions are booked weekly or fortnightly, but you are in control and can slow or stop sessions at any time.
